The need for reliable long-distance communication systems has existed since antiquity. Over time, the sophistication of these systems has gradually improved, from smoke signals to telegraphs and finally to the first coaxial cable, put into service in 1940. As these communication systems improved, certain fundamental limitations presented themselves. Electrical systems were limited by their small repeater spacing (the distance a signal can propagate before attenuation requires the signal to be amplified), and the bit rate of microwave systems was limited by their carrier frequency. In the second half of the twentieth century, it was realized that an optical carrier of information would have a significant advantage over the existing electrical and microwave carrier signals.

Zhantong Telecom is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and developers of Fiber Optic Splice Closure (FOSC) and Termination Box. Our customers operate in more than 80 countries in the world, most of them used 3M or Tyco closure before. ZTONG is also the eligible supplier of of Fiberhome, ZTE and HUAWEI. After ten years development, ZhanTong has possessed 6 series more than 500 models Fiber Optic Splice Closure and 8 models termination box so far, and has got 16 national product patent which had been registered in different countries subsequently. Innovation and specialized in FOSC made Zhantong became No.1 manufacturer in product series and patent in the world.

After a period of intensive research from 1975 to 1980, the first commercial fiber-optic communication system was developed, which operated at a wavelength around 0.8
